When Can I Start Working Out?
Okay so here is another post lol. I had my surgery on June 30th, 2009 and so that makes eh about 16 days ago and I wanted to start going to the GYM. I usually do cardio for 45mins and then I do weights. I know I would be okay to start the cardio but the weights is what I am concerned about, I don't want to get a hurnia for lifting to much or stressing...so how far out where you when you started working out? I don't want to pu**** but I have all this time off work and don't like just sitting here. Grrr..any ideas?
Thanks you all!

I had a 2 week lifting restriction and then was cleared but I was walking/doing light cardio since I got released from the hospital. I would go to the gym, start slow and just do as much as you can. Listen to your body, you probably won't be going back to 45 minute cardio sessions quite yet but start out with 10 minutes and work up from there. Same with weights...start out light and then build up when you get stronger.
Good luck!

My doc said that I cannot do weight training until about the 2 month mark.....he said I could do 5 lb-10 lb weights with my arms, but anything that involves my stomach I cannot do.....

I had surgery May 27th and my surgeon said that I shouldn't start doing weights at all until around this time, so it's about 7 weeks out. I joined the gym 3 weeks ago and have been doing mostly cardio (eliptical, bikes, etc) and I have just started doing some weights with my arms and legs, but nothing too heavy yet. I want to see my surgeon for my 2 month appointment before I got into it with full force.
